Terms of Use

These Terms govern access to Holodex, Vela's temporary demonstration platform, including applications served on *.demo.holode.xyz. By using Holodex or a hosted demo, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

Holodex is a test environment. Use fictional or non-sensitive test data. Demos can disappear, reset, sleep, change, or fail without notice. The linked public repository—not the running demo—is the durable artifact.

1. Who may use Holodex

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. Holodex is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the service where doing so would violate law or a duty you owe to another person.

2. Temporary demos

Holodex runs verified builds with resource limits and an automatic deletion schedule. No availability, backup, support, recovery, or data-preservation commitment is made. A demo's repository may be hosted by GitHub and remains subject to its license and GitHub's terms.

3. Test data only

Do not enter secrets, real payment-card details, government identifiers, health information, confidential business data, or information you are not authorized to use. You are responsible for content you submit and for choosing suitable test data.

4. Payments and commerce previews

A checkout labeled as a Holodex test checkout is a simulator. It does not contact Stripe, request or store a card number, transfer money, create a binding purchase, or entitle you to goods or services. A separately self-hosted copy may use real Stripe test or live credentials under the self-hoster's own terms.

5. Accounts and email

Some demos may offer accounts and send confirmation or password-reset email through Holodex's restricted relay. Use an address you control, preferably a test alias. You are responsible for protecting any login credentials. Do not attempt to access another person's account or messages.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use Holodex to break the law, harm others, distribute malware, conduct fraud, infringe rights, probe or bypass security controls, overload the platform, scrape it abusively, or access data without authorization. Security testing requires prior written authorization.

7. Suspension and removal

Access or a demo may be restricted or removed at any time to protect users, the host, or other services; enforce these Terms; comply with law; or manage capacity. Automated daily cleanup and least-recently-used sleeping are normal service behavior.

8. Intellectual property

You retain rights in content you lawfully submit. You grant the service the limited permission needed to process that content and operate the requested demo. Software repositories and third-party components remain governed by their stated licenses. Vela and Holodex names and artwork may not be used to imply endorsement.

9. Third-party services

Holodex may rely on GitHub, hosting, DNS, email, and infrastructure providers. Those providers have their own terms. Links do not imply that Holodex controls or endorses a third-party service.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Holodex and every demo are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of availability, fitness, merchantability, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or data preservation. Use is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profit, revenue, goodwill, or opportunity arising from Holodex. Rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.

11. Changes

These Terms may be updated as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be announced through the site or repository when reasonably practical.

12. Contact

For terms questions, open a private channel with the maintainers through the Holodex repository. Do not put passwords, access tokens, payment information, or sensitive personal data in a public GitHub issue.
